Mr Kamel has been the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the UK since September 2014. His previous position prior to the UK was Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo (2012-2014). Shortly after joining the Egyptian Foreign Service in 1983, he was posted as Political and Economic Office, at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington D.C., (1984-1988). He then returned to Cairo to join the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (1988-1990). Later he was posted as an Economic Counsellor in the Egyptian Embassy in Lisbon (1990-1994), and then, in Tunis (1994-1998), before moving back to Cairo as to assume the position of Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs (1998-1999). In 1999-2001 he was appointed as Deputy Chief of Mission, Head of the European Commission/Council in the Egyptian Mission in Brussels, then as a Deputy Chief of Mission at the Egyptian Embassy in Paris (2001 – 2004). From 2004 to 2006 Mr Kamel was appointed Director of Egypt’s Public Information Service. He was then appointed as the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to France for 6 years (2006 – 2012), where he was also Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and l'Organization International de la Francophonie(OIF). Ambassador Nasser Kamel attended undergraduate studies in the School of Economics and Political Science of the University of Brussels, and the School of Economic and Political Sciences of Cairo University. He also studied in the Institut International d'Administration Publique, in Paris (1982-1983). Mr. Kamel is married with two sons.

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson

Jeffrey Donaldson’s political career began in 1985 when he was first elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly with the distinction at the age of 22 of being the youngest person to win a seat at Stormont. Jeffrey was subsequently elected to the UK Parliament on 1 May 1997 to represent the constituency of Lagan Valley and was re-elected in June 2017 for a sixth term. He was a key member of the Ulster Unionist Party negotiating team in the talks culminating in the Belfast Agreement in April 1998. He subsequently joined the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) in January 2004 and became a key member of their negotiating team for the review of the Belfast Agreement which culminated in a new Agreement at St Andrew’s in 2006. Following the restoration of Devolved Government in May 2007, Jeffrey was appointed as the lead DUP member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board. He also chaired the Assembly and Executive Review Committee whose remit included the preparations for the devolution of Policing and Justice Powers to the Assembly. Jeffrey was appointed by Her Majesty the Queen in 2007 as a Member of the Privy Council. In February 2008, Jeffrey was appointed to Ministerial Office in the Office of the First Minister in the Northern Ireland Government. As a Minister, he held responsibility for Victims issues, Children and Young People, policies on Older Persons, relations with the European Union, co-ordinating Executive business in the Assembly and generally assisting the First Minister with the discharge of his Ministerial functions. He stepped down from the Northern Ireland Assembly following the 2010 General Election and was appointed a member of the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly and the UK Delegation to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. Jeffrey is presently Chief Whip of the DUP Parliamentary Party in the House of Commons and has been appointed by the Prime Minister as UK Trade Envoy to Egypt. In 2016 he was awarded a Knighthood by Her Majesty the Queen in her 90th Birthday Honours List. Jeffrey is 54 years old and is married to Eleanor with two children – Claire and Laura.

Mrs Adawi’s previous roles include Head of Research in Fleming CIIC Securities, Managing Director of Egyptian Portfolio Management Group, the portfolio management arm of the region’s largest investment bank EFG-Hermes. Under her mandate was the management of Egypt’s largest local mutual funds and equity portfolios of high-net-worth individuals investing in the Egyptian stock market. Total assets under her direct management exceeded EGP 5bn. Mutual funds managed by her were ranked 1st through 3rd for three consecutive years (2005, 2006 and 2007) among all competing Egyptian funds, and beating the index by no less than 50%.

Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) & The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) Prior to his appointment as the Executive Chairman of the Stock Exchange, Mr. Farid served as the Chairman and the CEO of Dcode EFC, a leading economic forecasting and advisory firm in Egypt. Furthermore, between 2013 & 2016, Mr. Farid was an external consultant on Venture Capital and Financial Leasing for the World Bank Group in Egypt, and was a member of the Capital Market Advisory Committee established by the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority [EFSA]. Additionally, he was the Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange in 2010-2011. Prior to his appointment as EGX Vice Chairman, he served as a Senior Financial Economist and Head of Capital Markets Unit at the Ministry of Investment, whereby he participated in the formulation and implementation of the two phases of the Non-Banking Financial Sector Reform Plans adopted by the Egyptian Government. Dr Ziad Ahmed Bahaa-Eldin is an Egyptian Lawyer and expert on financial law, governance, compliance and economic legislation, Managing Partner in Thebes Consultancy, an Egyptian Firm specialized in legal advisory on laws, investment and financial law. He is currently a non-executive member on several company Board of Directors including HSBC Bank Egypt, the National Bank of Egypt UK, Arabian Cement Company, Emaar Egypt, AXA Egypt, Allam Holding and Saray Capital Dubai. He was the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development and Minister of International Cooperation (2013-2014), Member of Parliament representing Assiut (2012), Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) (2009-2011) and the Executive Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (2004-2007). He is also a former non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Egypt (2004-2011), of the National Bank of Egypt (2005-2010), and a former Senior Legal Advisor to the Central Bank of Egypt (2011). From 2000 to 2004, Dr Bahaa-Eldin was a practicing lawyer in Egypt, and from 1997 to 2000 the senior legal advisor to the Minister of Economy. Prior to this, he was in private practice in Cairo and Washington, DC. Dr Bahaa-Eldin was also an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the Cairo University (1998-2004). Ahmed Kouchouk was appointed Vice Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policies and Institutional Reform in March 2016. He is a professional economist and policy advisor with more than 13 years of applied experience. Before assuming his current post, Ahmed worked for the World Bank from June 2013 to March 2016 as a Senior Economist based in Cairo.
His responsibilities included monitoring and reviewing Egypt’s macroeconomic stance and developments, assessing economic policies adopted and their implications and engaging with the Government of Egypt on requested technical assistance and advisory services in the macro-fiscal domain.
